Spinner Speed Histogram
The NRT-2500 combines several different types of polarization controllers into one instrument; therefore it is named as Polarization Control Platform. The NRT-2500 uses an integrated-optic Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) waveguide polarization-controller device for ultrafast polarization response driven by a customizable DSP/FPGA platform for functional flexibility.
The five main polarization controller modes are:
- Digital Manual Controller - using sliders on the GUI software
- Polarization Scrambler - Truly random and uniform coverage on the Poincare Sphere. Scrambling speed can be set directly by users based on Raleigh Distribution.
- Spinner - Rotates the SOP at a constant and fixed speed up to 75 kHz (>470,000 rad/sec for linearly polarized light), user-controllably, repeatably and endlessly to stress the Coherent transponders. (For Application Note on NRT-Spinner: please click here.)
- Polarization Randomizer - Creating sudden SOP jump (with over 1.5 million rad/s). This SOP randomizer can be triggered within NRT-2500 or using external triggers (Up to 4 channels can be used)
- Fast Polarization Tracker - Robost and endless SOP tracking (with unique Tracker Optimizer)
Combining two NRT-2500 units with NRT-96083X (PMD Source), the customer will have the ultimate test station for both "PMD Tolerance Test and SOP Stress Test" for the Coherent Detection Transponders, Algorithm Improvement and Coherent Transmission Systems.
